Maurice Renoma Exposition : Mythologies du Poisson Rouge

Tireless traveler, Maurice Renoma travels the world accompanied by his goldfish, Cristobal. This amazing travel companion has the particularity of being made of plastic, and it leaves no one indifferent:
is he a petroleum residue from the plastic industry, the short-term result of intensive fishing, or an artificial friend in our individualistic society?

A witness without words but not mute, Cristobal denounces the omnipresence of plastic, a real scourge for fauna and flora, and yet has become indispensable.
to the “modern” man.

Maurice Renoma lets Cristobal swim, who will guide the spectators, like a (pea-sound) red thread, through a photographic and multimedia exhibition, immersive and made from recycled materials, to be discovered in atypical places, faithful to the dreamlike and offbeat universe of the photographer-designer.

In the Renoma boutique, Cristobal is represented through a series of humorous, sensual, tender and striking photographs.

At Le Souplex, he swims through spectacular and immersive, comical and poetic stagings, pointing out ecological but also societal issues: addiction, sickly distraction and mutation of common sense.

Finally, at the Appart, Cristobal becomes bourgeois: full-length portraits or classic still lifes — vanities, reflections of our image, reflection on our Life, our relationships, our consumption, our food…
