This is the first time the event is being held in Paris. On Saturday, June 18, 24 athletes will launch themselves from the top of the Red Bull Cliff Diving platform, installed in Port Debilly, above the Seine, to perform their best dive.
The 27-meter high platform will be on the right bank of the Seine, near the Trocadero Gardens. There, on the day, 12 divers will jump from a height of 27 meters and 12 women divers will jump from a height of 21 meters.
The world sporting competition, organized annually by the Red Bull company, will be held in Paris for the first time, after Bonifacio, Saint-Raphaël but also La Rochelle, in Charente-Maritime, where the fortifications of the old port were used as a diving board for the athletes.
A discipline that requires concentration, skill and perfect physical control, as the organizers recall, while the athletes come to hit the water “at speeds exceeding 85 km / h.
