The Saint Laurent collection at Paris Fashion Week was presented in the Trocadero gardens, providing a grandiose and opulent backdrop to showcase the first models of the runway. Walking on a gold catwalk underneath massive chandeliers, the models displayed sculptural and sleek silhouettes, celebrating the volume and heritage of the brand.

Artistic Director Anthony Vaccarello paid tribute to Yves Saint Laurent’s legacy with flattering lines and classic but powerful cuts that celebrate the Saint Laurent woman. XXL Grace Jones-inspired shoulder pads, tennis-striped suits, extravagant lavallières, and tartan-printed wool fabrics subtly and elegantly revisited tailoring. Beige and gray tonalities also brought warmth to the collection, while gold jewelry added a touch of bourgeois decomplexion.

On the accessories and details front, the Saint Laurent runway featured a strong presence of sunglasses, which were present in every look of the collection. Leather gloves inspired by the biker universe were also used to give a touch of androgyny to the already assertive silhouettes. Leather scarves also caught the eye, offering a nod to the house’s essential elements.

Later in the show, the models revealed short-hemmed dresses and skirts with bold slits, highlighting their legs. Black velvet, backless designs, billowy chiffons, dark shades, and ultra-pointy stilettos all contributed to maintaining the strong and stunning image of the Saint Laurent woman, who strides forward with confidence and determination.
