In the middle of a poetic garden, Dior presented its new spring-summer 2023 collection, an ode to masculine elegance that interprets the greatest aspirations of Monsiuer Christian Dior.

A space full of flowers, the essence of the place conveys the romanticism and simplicity of the clothes exquisitely constructed by the French House. A catwalk transformed into a botanical garden with pastel pink and purple colors and a house that the brand’s creative director, Kim Jones, represented in homage to the dream house of Christian Dior’s childhood. The exhibition opened in a field of the Bloomsbury art collective with the likes of Virginia Woolf in Charleston. A dream setting that only the great Kim Jones could achieve with his wit and talent.

The Dior Men spring/summer 2023 collection is inspired by the French taste of Christian Dior and Duncan Grant, the British painter who was part of an art movement called Bloomsbury in the 20th century and shared a special date with Dior, his birthday. This thread was part of a key point of the collection, because for Kim Jones, this movement and date were part of Dior’s childhood with this artistic collective to present an unforgettable Paris fashion show.

The impeccable way of merging memories of the past with contemporary and elegant clothing makes the Dior Men SS 23 collection a dream among landscapes. The show features the bespoke suits that are so characteristic of Dior’s spirit of craftsmanship, with Dior’s pink childhood home in Normandy on one side and an excellent combination of textures, prints, silhouettes and colors that work perfectly with the space.
Plus, in Christian’s memory box, he once mentioned that his life resembled the weather he had as a child. Picking up on this aspect, Jones didn’t hesitate to lead the models down the runway, where they strolled between kindergarten, modernity and an inevitable nostalgia.
The show ended with Kim Jones waving from the door of the house, a replica very similar to the house that now serves as a museum in France.
