After touring France and gathering over 4 million spectators, the Olympic Flame Relay will arrive in Paris on July 14th, Bastille Day, for two days of unforgettable festivities before the start of the Games. In collaboration with Paris 2024 and the police prefecture, the City of Paris will offer a free and open program along the Flame’s route on July 14th and 15th at many iconic locations. The festivities will include an exceptional fireworks display launched from the Eiffel Tower on the evening of July 14th. Due to preparations for the Paris 2024 Games, the Trocadéro and Champ de Mars will be closed to the public this year.
For its Parisian journey, historical, cultural, popular, and sporting locations have been selected, including major monuments and iconic spots cherished by Parisians. Sponsored by Coca-Cola, Banque Populaire, and Caisse d’Épargne, the Olympic Flame Relay will travel through each arrondissement to showcase the city’s many facets. Renowned artists like Yoann Bourgeois will perform in front of landmarks, and spectators can enjoy various cultural and sporting events along the 60-kilometer route.
As a symbol of peace, unity, and friendship, the Olympic Flame Relay will be a major festive moment of the Games. On its first day in Paris, the Flame will make an appearance during the Bastille Day military parade, marking a historic moment. It will parade down the Champs Elysées and pass through iconic locations in the heart of the capital before culminating at the Hôtel de Ville. Following this, there will be a unique spectacle: the July 14th fireworks, launched from the Eiffel Tower, which will be held without public attendance due to preparations at the Trocadéro and Champ de Mars.
Throughout the day, the Flame will pass through emblematic locations with numerous events scheduled:
- Petit Palais (8th arrondissement): The lyrical quartet D.V.A will perform French opera pieces in a festive manner.

- Saint-Germain des Prés (6th arrondissement): Jazz concert by singer and guitarist Thomas Curbillon.

- Parvis du Panthéon (5th arrondissement): Custom performance by artist Yoann Bourgeois.
- Parvis de l’Institut du Monde Arabe (5th arrondissement): Collaborative artwork by artist Zepha.
- Parvis de Notre-Dame (4th arrondissement): Artistic and athletic performance by the Paris Fire Brigade gymnastics section.
- Pont Notre-Dame (4th arrondissement): Stilt performers from the Zizanie company amid giant flowers by Nicolas Vendroux.
- Le Marais (4th arrondissement): Giant drag bingo event hosted by Mademoiselle Kiss.
- Place de la Bastille (11th arrondissement): Giant dance class hosted by the Opéra Bastille.
- Jardin Marielle Franco (10th arrondissement): Collaborative fresco and portrait by artist Mathilde Guégan.
- Place du Colonel Fabien (10th arrondissement): Paris Pop Party with a DJ set by Radio Cargo.
- Rue des Martyrs (9th arrondissement): Painter Lorem and saxophonist Kazimir will present a fresco and musical interludes.
- Place Vendôme (1st arrondissement): Concert by the youth of the Orchestre de Paris.
- Rue de Rivoli (1st arrondissement): Grand parade of soft mobilities organized by the Paris Roller team.
- Musée du Louvre (1st arrondissement)
- Jardin Nelson Mandela (1st arrondissement): Hip-hop dance show by the Sons of Wind company and choreographer Lumi Sow.
- Parvis du Centre Pompidou (4th arrondissement): Poetic interlude by the duo MOOVCELLO, combining classical music and hip-hop dance.
The emotional day on July 14th will continue with a concert at the Hôtel de Ville at 8:40 PM, followed by the arrival of the Olympic Flame at 11:10 PM. The evening will feature the lighting of the cauldron in front of the Hôtel de Ville, just minutes before an exceptional fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower, celebrating the values of Paris. With over 1,000 drones, spectators will witness a series of breathtaking scenes on France Télévisions, paying tribute to the capital and the values of Olympism. The fireworks soundtrack will celebrate the spirit of Parisians, focusing on vitality, life, and sportsmanship.
To ensure this exceptional show, the fireworks on the Eiffel Tower on the evening of July 14th will occur without public presence and will be fully broadcast on France Télévisions.
The evening will conclude with a Flame vigil, held all night at the Hôtel de Ville from 12:30 AM to 5:00 AM. The lantern will move from the Hôtel de Ville square to the Saint-Jean hall, allowing Parisians and visitors to get a close look. This unique nocturnal visit is by registration only via the dedicated paris.fr website, with 30-minute slots and limited capacity.
