To celebrate the first 50 years since the first 911 model called the Carrera, TAG Heuer has launched a limited edition of watches in partnership with Porsche.

In 2021, TAG Heuer and Porsche signed a global partnership agreement, agreeing to celebrate their brands’ long history of collaboration and values. Both brands can look back on their many shared achievements throughout their history of involvement in motorsport. For Porsche, a notable highlight is the ‘TAG-Turbo made by Porsche’, which powered Formula One cars in the 1980s and won two team championships (1984 & 1985) and three drivers’ championships (1984–1986). Swiss watchmaker Heuer has been involved in motorsport since the 1970s, working with Porsche driver Jo Siffert from 1966 to 1971, winning a number of endurance races and contributing to Porsche’s victory in the 1969 World Sports Car Championship.
In the 1990s, TAG Heuer became a sponsor of the Porsche Supercup and continues to be a partner of the Porsche Supercup today. Building on the success of the past, Porsche and TAG Heuer are now accelerating to the next frontier by participating in Formula E, the world’s first electric street racing series.
TAG Heuer chose two of the 27 vibrant colours in which the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was available — red and blue — to recreate the lines of the decal that ran along the side of the white cars and now runs along the case of the new limited-edition, individually numbered chronographs.
The 42 mm tricompax chronographs are offered in stainless steel and 18-carat rose gold. The former are part of the Blue Edition and are produced in 500 units, while the Red Edition, reserved for the precious metal case, will be produced in only 250 pieces.
Both are powered by the TAG Heuer Calibre Heuer 02 chronograph movement with an 80-hour power reserve and a customised winding rotor in the shape of Porsche’s three-spoke steering wheel.

The Blue Edition is sold with a fabric Porsche strap and a stainless steel bracelet, while the Red Edition has a red alligator strap with a gold pin buckle.
The name Carrera is emblematic for both brands, having become the name of TAG Heuer’s racing chronograph in 1963 and then of the 911 variants in 1972. Both names, clearly, derive from the infamous Carrera Panamericana race.
The TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 watches are already available for €7,450 and €22,300. They are all sold out.
